Paradise Voxbox

  • Olay Fresh Effects {Shine,Shine Go Away} Shine Minimizing Cleanser
  • Dr.Scholl's For Her High Heel Insoles
  • Goody TangleFix
  • NYC New York Color Sparkle Eye Dust Eye Shadow in Smokey Topaz
  • Suave Professional Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil
The first thing I tried was the TangleFix. I had seen this brush on youtube and I really wanted to go get one for my girls. It was a pleasant surprise to find the TangleFix brush in this Voxbox. My eldest said it pulled a little,However she did not whine or cry. She even asked if she could keep this brush so I take it she liked it. I also tried the Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil simply because it smelled so good. I applied very little I was concern it would make my hair look greasy which it did not and my hair now smells great. I have tried the insole before they do help, however don't expect miracles. Walking around on our tippy toes is always going to be uncomfortable insoles or no insole. I was able to keep on the heel for longer before feeling really uncomfortable. I have not yet used the cleanser or eyeshadow, however I am looking forward to it. Hope you enjoy this post.

Creation Science

This week I received the Christian Kids Explore Creation Science book by: Robert W. Ridlon, Jr & Elizabeth J. Ridlon. Available at Yellow House Book Rental.
Even though it is too soon to give a review I figured I could give you sneak peek.

We have already finished lesson 1 and so far so good. It dives right into our first project. As I flipped through the pages it seems to have a project for every lesson which is great for my toddlers. However, like I mentioned before, it is still too early for a real review so this is just a peek of what the book covers.

It opens with a short explanation of what creation science is and quickly moves on to explain diversity of life. Today we worked on Lesson 2 which included a bean growing project. Lesson 7 - 12 are supposed to cover six days of creation, Lesson 13-16 cover the flood of Noah and Lesson 19- 23 cover evolution. It has a total of 28 lessons. At the back of the book it includes coloring pages and multiple choice questions with an answer key. I am so happy to have won a copy, courtesy of Yellow House Book Rental. Thank you Yellow House for this wonderful giveaway.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Bob's Red mill Chocolate Chip Cookies

I make this about once a month  for my 2 year old. She really likes them. I make them different every time because my 4 year old is very picky. Even though she says she likes them they are not her first choice. My husband tried them last week for the first time and he said they tasted good. He's a picky eater too.
I try to follow the recipe in the back as closely as possible but am a baker at heart. So I always end up tweaking every recipe I come across. Here is how I made them. The first batch I followed the instructions in the back.
It says to add two teaspoons of water; However, I always bake with either milk, butter milk or cream.

First batch of cookies

  1. 1/2 cup butter
  2. 1 egg
  3. about 5 tsp of whipping cream
  4. 1 bag of Nestle Mini Chocolate Chips (semi-sweet)

I feel that they are quite sweet like this, no need to add extra sugars. I've made them in the past with coconut oil instead of butter and it was just too much the coconut flavor and the sweetness. They are great just like this. I simply wish they came with more chocolate chips. Which is why I add a bag of chocolate chips when I make them. Like I mentioned before, my 4 year old is not too fond of these cookies. So for her I made the second batch a bit different. The second batch was what I had left over after the first 11 cookies I made; Therefore, keep in mind this is for half the mixture not a full bag.

Second batch

  1. 1/2 the batter from the first batch
  2. 1/3 cup of brown sugar
  3. 1/4 cup of whipping cream

These were much softer! My kids liked both even if my 4 year old claims not to like them she didn't seem to have a problem eating either batch of cookies.
